Web site helps home buyers locate public, private housing funds
Inman News Features
HomeBuyerFunds.com aims to pair low-income families with private and public housing funds providers in an effort to narrow the homeownership gap between the haves and have-nots.
According to the Web site, barely 51 percent of low-income families own a home, and saving a down payment is their largest financial obstacle.
The site's "Funds Finder" tool, which is broken up by state, provides would-be homeowners with a list of non-profit housing organizations, financial institutions and government agencies that provide assistance programs such as down payment grants, low or no down payment mortgages and zero percent mortgages.
The site also provides homeowners with lists of similar assistance programs that provide home repair loans and grants.
HomeBuyerFunds.com is an online database of financial resources. The site's members include non-profit housing organizations, financial institutions and government agencies.
